Sofa Power is not open for business yet, so there is very little to tell you. This page describes what we actually do today. We will rewrite it — and say so on this page — before the store starts taking orders.

What we collect

One thing: the email address you type into the launch list form, if you choose to type one. We do not ask for a name, an address, or anything else, and there is nothing else on this site that collects information about you.

What we do with it

We send you exactly two emails. The first arrives immediately and asks you to confirm the address really is yours; if you never confirm, nothing further is ever sent and the address is never used. The second arrives when the product ships. That is the entire purpose.

We do not sell, rent, or share the list with anyone, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to advertise to you elsewhere.

Mail is sent from anystupididea.com using Amazon SES, because Sofa Power is one of the things Any Stupid Idea makes. Amazon processes the message in order to deliver it.

Analytics and cookies

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Our host records ordinary web server logs — IP address, page requested, timestamp — which we use to keep the site running and which age out on their own.

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when you open a page. That request is visible to Google and is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Where it is stored

On Amazon Web Services in the United States, alongside the date you signed up and a one-word note of which form you used. If you are reading this from elsewhere, that is where your email address will live.

Getting rid of it

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, which deletes your address rather than flagging it as unsubscribed. If you simply never confirm, the unconfirmed address is never used for anything. You can also write to hello@sofapower.com and ask us to delete it, and we will, without asking you why.

Children

This is a dietary supplement brand. The site is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly keep information from them.

Asking us something

hello@sofapower.com. A person reads it.
